The Rotary Club of James City County is dedicated to community service, personal and professional growth, fellowship and fun in Williamsburg, Virginia! Whether you’re a current member, a local resident looking to get involved, or a visitor hoping to meet Rotarians in the area, we hope you’ll join us for projects and events throughout the year.

Rotarians provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Monthly MEetings

Breakfast Group meetings are held the first and third Fridays at 7 AM at the Elements Restaurant in the Kingsmill Conference Center.

Evening Group meets the second Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the Riverside Doctors Hospital conference room off the lobby.

Club social events with both groups are held on the fourth Wednesdays. The venue rotates to different locations around Williamsburg.

Upcoming Events

November13th- Wednesday 6:30 PM. Evening meeting at Riverside Doctors Hospital conference room. Speaker will be Terrie Nathan, author, motivational speaker who will speak on the topic “Empowered Through Challenges: Cultivating Optimism in Stressful Seasons.”

November 14th - Thursday 6:30 PM. District 7600 Foundation Awards banquet at Colonial Heritage. Sign up on dacdb required.

November 15th - Friday 7 AM. Note Change of Location for this week Only! Breakfast meeting in the Tazewell Room in the same building, the Kingsmill Conference Center building. The speaker will be Matthew Scalia, Executive Director of the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA).

November 23rd - Saturday 12 to 2 PM. Luncheon event to celebrate PolioPlus and The Foundation. Location is 211 William Way, the Port Anne neighborhood clubhouse. Fee is $15.00. Please rsvp to Jerry Fields at jfields49@aol.com.

December 6th - Friday 7 AM. Breakfast meeting at Elements Restaurant in the Kingsmill Conference Center building. Speaker will be James City County Assistant Fire Chief Tristan Aiken bringing us up to date on the county fire department.

December 7th and 8th. Salvation Army Bell Ringing Days.

December 11th- Wednesday. Club Holiday Party 6 PM to 8 PM at Ford’s Colony Club House, 240 Ford’s Colony Drive. Fee is $35.00. Food, music and holiday camaraderie. Please rsvp to Debbie Snow at debbiesnow12@gmail.com.

December 20th - Friday 7 AM. Breakfast meeting at Elements Restaurant in the Kingsmill Conference Center building. Speaker will be James Paige, Kingsmill golf course operations. Come find out current information about the courses.

December 25th - Wednesday. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! No Club social event this week.

Club News

On May 7th, Club President-Elect Travis Rabb (left) receives a certificatae from Club Foundation Chair Jerry Fields recognizing Travis’ Paul Harris Society status resulting from his generous support of The Rotary Foundation.

On 2 Apr, James City County Rotary Club members listened to Dr. John Delano describe the historical WWII actions that took place on Guadalcanal in the Pacific Theater during August 7, 1942 - February 9, 1943.

On 16 April, James City County Rotary and Satellite Clubs hosted the annual District 7600 Golf Tournament at Kingsmill River Course to assist the District in their efforts to raise money for Rotary International's signature health initiative to eradicate polio. pins to James City County Rotarians who have donated annually to
Rotary International Foundation to support their world-wide efforts to
eradicate polio.

Rotarian Andy Andrews (on left) has 45 years of perfect attendance! He alternates between his home club, Hampton Rotary Club and our club. Congratulating Andy is our own long-time member, Charlie Glazener.

On June 20, the Rotary Club of James City Club breakfast group presented the Paul Harris Fellow Lapel Pin to club members Jack Clark (PH+5) and Nancy Carty (PH+2) to recognize their contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

On 7 May, the James City County Rotary Club Breakfast group was given an in-depth briefing about Child Development Resources (CDR) by Paul F. Scott, Executive Director. Established in 1966, CDR is a nationally-recognized provider of services to families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities with training and technical assistance from the professionals who serve them. In October, our club heard from Liebherr Group former President and Board Chairman Ron Jacobson. Liebherr Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment. Pictured with Ron is Past President Nancy Carter.

Rotary Club of James City County heard from Geneva Hudgins, Executive Director, American Water Works Association-Virginia Section. VA AWWA is leading, educating, and assisting Virginia's water community in the advancement of public health, safety, quality of life, and environmental stewardship.
