Club Activities and Accomplishments

This was a busy year:

•     Club has 58 members and added 7 this year - lost some

•     Club has 53 PHF   16 are multiple—7 added this year

•     Among top clubs in District for per capita giving to Rotary Foundation

•     Achieved about 250% of our Foundation goal for this year

•     We continue to provide District leadership, The Asst. Gov. next year

•     Sponsored a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in Scotland

•     Provided member of the outbound Group Study Exchange team to Australia

•     Hosted group of Russian lawyers in the Open World program

•     Procured and mailed 200 wounded soldier comfort kits to Iraq

•     Supported digging a water well for a village in Kenya

     •     Teamed with N.N. Water Works on a really big water project for implementation next Rotary year in Central America

•     Have three ongoing literacy projects in JCC, including the regional jail

•     Regularly cleaned up our assigned part of Hwy 199

•     Conducted winter coat drive and a monthly food drives for FISH

•     Supported the Yorktown 225th Anniversary with refreshment sales

•     Supported 1st Night celebration in Williamsburg

•     Rang bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas

•     Loaded containers for MedLink project

•     Wrapped Christmas presents at Barnes and Noble

•     Had our largest ever Christmas poinsettia sales

•     Had a high class Christmas party

•     Provided cash donation for tornado relief in Florida

•     Celebrated the Club's twentieth anniversary

•     Donated over $26,000 to local charities this year in dollars and end items

•     Raised over $31,000 for local charities next year;   most through Silent Auction

•     Developed a Strategic Plan to guide the club for the next 3-5 years

•     Submitted applications for a record number of club awards

•     Marshaled the 2d hole at the LPGA tournament at Kingsmill

•     Supported the visit of the RI president

     •     Produced a high quality full color monthly newsletter and a great web site

•     Had a super publicity program that kept the Club in the community eye.

•     Had a wide range of interesting and informative programs at our meetings

•     Had excellent attendance at District Conference and Assembly

•     Sponsored a new Rotaract Club at W&M

•     And, in our spare time, we teamed with Williamsburg club to start a new Club
